Britain - Muslim March Update

Yesterday I posted about Saturdays Muslim march in London where they calimed to be protesting the UK anti-terror laws and the war in Iraq.

I pointed out that the media were conviently overlooking the fact that the march was organized by Dr Imran Waheed, the leader of Hizb ut Tahrir, a Muslim terrorist front organization which is banned in Germany.

Now, The AP provides more background on the organization with ties to al-Qaeda and notes more countries where they are banned.

Hizb ut-Tahrir, founded in 1953 in Jordan by Sheik Takuddin an-Nabahani shares the goal of creating a huge Islamic state with groups that are on the U.S. list of terrorist organizations, including the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, the Taliban and Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida.

Hizb ut-Tahrir sometimes meets with leaders of these groups, but the organization's London-based spokesman, Dr. Imran Waheed, insisted, "We only talk and meet to try to convince them to our way of bringing about change, which is a nonviolent one."

"I believe that 99 percent of Muslim people anywhere in the world want the same thing, a caliphate to rule them," Waheed told AP in a telephone interview, adding that Central Asia is one of the most fertile recruiting grounds for Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Hizb ut-Tahrir has been outlawed in all five newly independent Central Asian nations: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Here is Tahrir's goals.

The group - also known as the Islamic Party of Liberation - believes it can achieve its utopian Islamic state in three steps. The first involves educating Muslims about its philosophies and goals. In the second step, the Muslims would then spread these views among others in their countries, especially members of government, the military and other power centers. In the third and final step, Hizb ut-Tahrir believes its faithful will cause secular governments to crumble because loyalties will then lie solely with Islam - not nationalities, politics or ethnic identifications. At that point the group says a supreme Islamic leader, a Caliph like those of past centuries would rule all Muslims with both political and religious authority.

Now you know the real reason for the march - to turn Britain into an Islamic state.
